Highlights of my adventures this week. Also, a preview of the unfinished jean punk vest that I am making for my cat.
Almost 6am and I am cutting scrap paper to make into free journals/sketchbooks to leave in random places. At least the cat is here to keep me company. Here are some photos from the artist hangout that I hosted at my house.
Today the sky was overcast that turned to showers.
I went on adventure to Dick Blick art supply in Dearborn, Michigan. There was a sweet Adventure Time display made by the staff.
I was having an art block, so I thought I would try lino cutting and printing. I purchased the necessary supplies with help from the awesome and knowledgeable staff.
At home, my cat hogged the PlayStation while I worked on carving the design. I made a few prints. They are of my cat, of course. Listening to episodes of the X-Files helped.
Tonight, I attended the Comic Jam at Green Brain Comics in Dearborn, Michigan USA. Here are some photos in this post of my contributions and a photo of me looking all super serious.
There was a special guest speaker, Michelle Hauske, from the Detroit Institute of Arts for the Inside|Out project. The piece on the side of Green Brain was the reproduction of Judith and Her Maidservant with the Head of Holofernes by Artemisia Gentileschi.
“Inside|Out brings 80 reproductions of masterpieces from the DIA’s collection to the streets and parks of metro Detroit, pleasantly surprising and delighting residents of the participating communities. Where possible, the works are clustered within walking or biking distance of each other in a grand, open-air gallery.” - http://www.dia.org
